2023.05.29Opinion exchange meeting held.
On 23 May 2023, an opinion exchange meeting was held, attended by 113 MOPA members at the venue and more than 20 MOPA members via the web, as well as members of the Diet and members of the provincial parliament.
Following opening remarks (by MOPA Chairman Sekine), greetings from Muroran City and guests of honour, we received greetings from 18 new member companies. An explanation of trends from MOPA President Uemura, followed by information from MOPA Research Group Yoshida on the launch of sub-committees, and then presentations from MOPA member companies by JGC Japan Corporation and SSE Pacifico K.K. The meeting was very successful, and we would like to express our sincere gratitude to them.
2023.05.18The Board of Directors approved the admission of two new companies.
The admission of two new members (Regular member: Nihon Kogakuin College of Hokkaido; Supporting member: COAST Corporation) was approved. The total number of members now stands at 84 companies (85 if observers are included).
2023.05.15MOPA President will speak at Muroran Institute of Technology.
MOPA was given the opportunity to speak in a class at Muroran Institute of Technology on Thursday 8 June.
MOPA will be speaking for 40 minutes on the following topics.

2023.04.06The Board of Directors approved the admission of four new companies.
The admission of four new members (Regular members: Uchiike Construction Corporation and Shimizu Corporation; Supporting members: Sumitomo Heavy Industries Himatex Co. Ltd. and Federal-Mogul Japan K.K.) was approved. The total number of members now stands at 82 companies (83 if observers are included).
2023.04.05Notification of President of the MOPA Speaking Events
Kohki Uemura, President of MOPA, will speak at the Forum "Renewable Energy and the Future of Hokkaido and Japan" to be held on 13 April 2023 (Thu) at the Creative Studio on the 3rd floor of Sapporo Citizens Exchange Plaza and online in conjunction with the G7 Sapporo Climate, Energy and Environment Ministers Meeting.
President Uemura will speak at the [Part 2] panel discussion of 'Energizing Hokkaido with Renewable Energy’. Hokkaido is a treasure trove of natural energy resources, and this forum is designed to build momentum for utilizing Hokkaido's natural energy resources.

2023.03.30The Board of Directors approved the admission of three new companies.
The admission of three member companies (Regular Member: Ueda Co., Ltd, New Supporting Members: SSE Pacifico K.K., TOYOTSU LOGISTICS SERVICE CO.,LTD) was approved. The total number of members now stands at 78 companies (79 if observer included).
2023.03.17MOPA exhibited booth at the International WIND EXPO (Spring) in Tokyo Big Sight East Hall.
At the International Wind Power Exhibition (Spring) held at Tokyo Big Sight, we explained MOPA vision, the potential of the Port of Muroran and industry trends.
We also announced video of the Muroran Offshore Wind Forum 2023 and news of Offshore Wind Forum will be held in Sapporo in the summer.
During the exhibition, we welcomed many visitors and exchanged business cards with 587 people. MOPA's activities were also introduced at the offshore wind power seminar on the first day of the exhibition by Chairman Uemura.
2023.03.01Remote Board Meeting was held
The admission of seven member companies (new supporting members: Eiken Co.,Ltd, Kawasaki Drop Forge Co.,Ltd, JIN KOGYO Co. Ltd., SEISHIN Company Limited, PACIFIC SOWA CORPORATION, Muroran-Kasetsu.,Co.Ltd, Yuki Kougyou Ltd.) was approved. The total number of members now stands at 75 companies (76 if observer included).
2023.01.26Muroran Offshore Wind Forum 2023 was held
Muroran Offshore Wind Forum 2023 was held at the Muroran Civic Hall and attended by 510 people, more than the capacity of the hall, from all walks of life, including citizens.
In addition, more than 150 people were able to watch the forum on the web at any given time.
In addition to the keynote speech, two panel discussions were held at the forum. The audience was filled with interest and enthusiasm as the speakers spoke of the importance of working together with a wide range of people to create a vision and strive to realize it.

The council's third annual general membership meeting was held on November 21 at the Muroran Culture Center of Muroran Gas Co.Following the activity and income/expenditure reports for the third term, the activity plan and budget proposal for the fourth term were approved.

The opinion exchange meeting was held, with 112 MOPA members participating at the venue and more than 15 participating via the web. Also present were members of the National Diet, members of the Hokkaido Assembly, and members of the Muroran City Council.
Following the explanation of MOPA trends by President Uemura, lectures were given by the Agency for Natural Resources and Energy of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry on "Policy on Offshore Wind Power Generation" and by Tokyo University of Marine Science and Technology on "Coexistence and Co-prosperity between Offshore Wind Power and Fishery Industry. In addition, Tokyo Marine & Nichido Fire Insurance Co., Ltd. gave a member presentation, proposing their initiatives and services.

2022.08.10Request for the Promotion of Offshore Wind Power Generation Business and Related Industries in the Muroran Area
On August 10, 2022, we submitted a "Request for the Promotion of Offshore Wind Power Generation Business and Related Industries in the Muroran Area" to the Mayor of Muroran City, requesting that the following items be actively and quickly addressed together.
Requests
(1) Actively promote understanding of offshore wind power generation projects in the region.
(2) Establish a forum to deepen understanding between the fishery industry, which is a prior user of wind power, and the industries of both parties.
(3) Proactively work to attract demonstration projects utilizing the Green Innovation Fund and other projects implemented by the government (NEDO) in order to promote understanding between both parties.

2022.06.27Seminar at Muroran Shimizugaoka High School
Kohki Uemura, Director Chairman of the Muroran Offshore Wind Industry Promotion Association (MOPA) gave a lecture at Muroran Shimizugaoka High School on June 14.This was the first time for MOPA to give a lecture to students.The lecture was to all 450 students and teachers at Muroran Shimizugaoka High School about the potential of offshore wind power generation in Muroran and other topics.

An opinion exchange meeting was held with a total of about 88 on-the-spot participation, more than 13 online participation.Also in attendance were members of the National Diet (including proxy participants), members of the Hokkaido Assembly, and members of the Muroran City Council.
Following the explanation of MOPA trends by Mr. Uemura, an overview of the Carbon Neutral Port Council was given by Muroran City.Sompo Japan Insurance Inc., Taisei Corporation, Japan Wind Development Co., Ltd. ,HOKKAIDO OFFSHORE WIND DEVELOPMENT GK made presentations and proposed their initiatives, technologies, and services.

At the International WIND EXPO Spring held at Tokyo Big Sight, MOPA explained its vision and the potential of Sakimori Wharf and Shukuzu Wharf under the concept of "Realizing Asia's First Zero Carbon Industrial City.
During the exhibition, we had many visitors and exchanged business cards with 442 people.

2022.02.01Muroran Offshore Wind Forum 2022 was held.
The Muroran Offshore Wind Forum 2022 was held at the Muroran Civic Hall and was attended by 340 people from the public, Diet members and various fields.
In addition, nearly 400 people participated in the forum via the web.
There were three keynote speeches and two panel discussions at the forum, and the speakers spoke enthusiastically about the potential of Muroran Port as a base port for offshore wind power construction.
